I started my day with a green
Just kidding! That was later...
I actually had a chopped up apple with mass amounts of PB and cinnamon for bfast.
Yummy! I went to work after I had this and stressed out about not owning any green clothes. Thankfully I was only pinched once! Correction: I do own one lime green top but I spilled Diet Coke on it last week and haven't gotten around to cleaning it. The horror!
Sometime around noon I really wanted a chocolate chip cookie. I'm not one to deny my cravings, so I headed for the cafeteria and decided to eat lunch while I was at it.
I had packed more gnocchi from the night before, along with romaine, a chopped carrot, and a Babybel cheese.
Gnocchi is really good cold! I was really worried about this but I didn't want to pack it separately because I'm lazy like that. I thought about maybe just warming it up for 30 seconds but I hate absolutely hate warm romaine lettuce, so I ate it this way and it was awesome. I ended up not eating the cheese because in the cafeteria I encountered a "St. Patrick's Day Appetizer Bar." The cafeteria at my workplace likes using holidays as an excuse to pump us full of fried goodness and I love fried food so I took 'em up on their offer.
3 fried mushrooms and a jalapeno popper
These were great; just the right amount of grease :) I dipped these in my noochy dressing and all was well. Alo don't forget my cookie, with a random spot of whipped cream...
Caution: Images of cookies may appear larger than they are in real life (this cookie was actually pretty small)
I sped through work after lunch and tried to sneak out early but was reminded by a co-worker that we had a meeting at 3! D'oh!! Before the meeting I was forced to eat birthday cake and ice cream for the March birthdays at work...
I took 2 tiny pieces and some ice cream, and after the meeting I hurried to the mall in search of a green outfit to wear. I tried on a few things at Forever 21 but they looked juvenile, and I almost got a green feathered headband when I decided to check out Aeropostale. I have never shopped there before and actually thought it was a children's store! I was planning on getting a child's XL green t-shirt or something, but it turned out to be a normal grown-up people's store and I ended up with a green tank top.
I got ready and my boyfriend and I met our friend Colleen at the Fox & Hound for some green beers!
I also got a side of sweet potato fries.
They accidentally put them on Colleen's burger plate, so I ate them from there. They were so good! I guess the secret to good sweet potato fries is the frying haha.
From there we carried on to Ruby Tequila's for March Madness drink specials.
My boyfriend and I got a way with a few tequila shots, a few margaritas, and several beers for $10...what?! I'm pretty sure something got rang up wrong but I wasn't complaining ;)
All in all it was a fabulous night! I can't wait to drink green beer next year! It was much more fun than drinking plain beer. I wish there was a PINK themed holiday :)
Unfortunately after all of the excitement of St. Patrick's Day, I was a little...tired today. I had one thing on my mind for breakfast:
Biscuits and gravy. I ate about 3/4ths of this. Also unfortunately, I had a very busy day at work and it was a real effort to chug water in between all of the running around I did. Finally lunch rolled around and I was craving juicy fruit (not the gum).
I enjoyed some fresh sweet cantaloupe and pineapple chunks, along with my Babybel from yesterday, and a Clif Bar. I loved this flavor! There was only like one almond in it though, but it was a good one :) During lunch I chatted via Facebook with Colleen and we made plans to go get a haircut after work.
Pre-Haircut Snackage:
A very small actual serving size of buttery popcorn that was leftover from a bag my boyfriend popped. Who doesn't eat the whole bag?! I have no self-restraint.
I got to the hair place and it turned out that there was over an hour wait so I did the civilized thang and made actual appointments for tomorrow morning :) I texted Colleen about our new appointment time and carried on to Market Street (a grocery store) and promptly ran into Colleen there! Ha!
I didn't get too many groceries, just a few things to add to some stuff I already have at home.
In the haul: Organic Romaine, Asparagus, Jambalaya mix (!!!), Bell Pepp, Sweet Onion, Tomato, PB, Clif, Odwalla Superfood Bar, Raw Sunflower Seeds, and some Dark Choc Chips
I'm thinking about making jambalaya with lotsa veggies tonight! Yummy :)

Randomness: what kind of Clif Bar was that? I couldnt quite make it out, but it looked like peanut and toffee? Glad you had a fun St Patty's and dang, you lucked out at the bar!
